Everything You Need to Know About Eyebrow Threading - Samaya Beauty Centre
At Samaya Beauty Centre Eyebrow threading is a form of epilation. The process removes the entire hair, including the root, rather than cutting it.
Eyebrow threading a well-known ancient technique that has originated from the Middle East. Which is now becoming very popular in Australia and the western world. Many Clients are preferring their Eye Brows being threaded, rather than getting their Eye Brows waxed. In fact you can have the whole Face threaded not just the Eyebrow. You can have Upper lip, Chin and the sides of your Face threaded as well.
The Samaya Beauty Centre is an eyebrow threading specialist in Australia and leaders in our craft in this traditional method of hair removal. Brow threading allows us to remove unwanted hair with unmatched accuracy and precision. Face threading involves doubling and twisting a thin thread, then rolling the thread over the unwanted hairs. The friction of the twisted thread pulls the hair out at the root. This is quicker than plucking and less painful than waxing. While also creating less waste than waxing (no chemicals, wax, strips or mess), it is also gentler on your skin, leaving your skin smoother with less redness and irritation.
Don't give microblading too much credit. There are other ways of grooming your brows to get the thick and full arches of your dreams.
Eyebrow threading is a cost-effective alternative that's equally as good at shaping your brows. Plus, it's much gentler and less painful than other options like waxing.
With origins in Asia, the treatment has been around for centuries. But, anyone who's never had their eyebrows threaded before probably wonders how a single piece of string shapes brows and gets rid of stray hairs.
That's why we turned to Samaya Beauty Centre of Wink Brow Bar to clear the confusion on how eyebrow threading works, what to expect during a threading appointment, and if it's less painful than waxing.
Eyebrow trends come and go, but whether you prefer a neat and tidy arch or some vintage Brooke Shields boldness to your brows, almost all of us find ourselves in need of a little shaping and clean up on occasion. And while here are several classic go-tos when it comes to perfecting your arches—breaking out your tweezers or reaching for some wax—those aren't the only options out there.
Threading, a centuries-old hair removal process stemming from south Asia and the Middle East, has been gaining popularity for years now. So what's all the fuss about? We dug into all of your burning questions about brow threading so you can pick the right removal method for you.
What Is Eyebrow Threading?
As mentioned, eyebrow threading is the process of removing eyebrow hair using a piece of thread. The thread is typically made of cotton and is relatively thin to allow a stronger hold on each strand.
Eyebrow threading was practiced in multiple different cultures for several thousand years. While no one knows where it actually originated, the popular theory is that it started in either India or Iran, where a woman would carefully thread her eyebrows for cosmetic and cultural reasons. It was also popular in China, where thin brows were a mark of sophistication.
Today, threading has been adopted by cultures worldwide and is one of the most popular methods of unwanted hair removal.
How does eyebrow threading work?
Threading is no misnomer. In fact, the hair removal tool in threading in nothing more than thread held between a technician's hands (and in some cases, their teeth as well) in a twisted configuration. As the technician moves their hands, spaces open between those twists and then tighten again, grabbing and holding onto hair, and pulling it free, root and all. If you've ever used an epilator before, you're familiar with the basic concept.
How is it different from waxing or tweezing?
There are a couple of reasons threading fans choose to forgo their tweezers and cancel their waxing appointments. The first comes down to precision.
"Threading is very precise and allows our specialists to have greater control over which hairs are removed," The hair removal hot-spot. So where waxes remove any swath of hair it comes into contact with, which can sometimes result in harsh lines, threading allows for a more natural look. The cotton thread technique enables you to dictate the hairs that you want to keep or remove – meaning the perfect shape every time.
The hair factor is, of course, vital to hair removal, another area where threading stands out is its effects on the skin—or rather, the lack thereof.
Threading "doesn’t pull or nick the skin like waxing or tweezing can," You see, waxes typically involve heat as well as chemicals (natural or synthetic) that can cause some skin types to break out and the removal process can sometimes damage skin, leading to redness and peeling, especially for those using skin treatments like retinol. Not exactly what most of us hope for when we get our brows done.
Is Eyebrow Tinting Safe?
Eyebrow tinting is safer than dying your eyebrows at home yourself. Putting any chemical near the eyes is extremely harmful and must be avoided. We make sure to comply with safety measures thereby minimizing the risk of anything going wrong. We carry out a patch test at least 24hrs prior to the treatment so as to avoid any infection or harmful effects that tinting might have on you. Also, we use a lubricant to avoid tint getting on to your skin and use a disposable applicator to prevent the spreading of infection between our different clients.
We are located on Brunswick Street in Fitzroy. People living at or nearby in suburbs such as Brunswick, Carlton, Collingwood, Richmond or in East Melbourne prefer to visit us. How to work Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion involves specifically targeting very small areas at a time (micro) of the surface of the skin (derma) to mechanically strip away and remove dead skin cells and debris (abrasion).
The 3 main methods used for Microdermabrasion are by delivering refined crystals at high velocity (Crystal abrasion), through use of a diamond tip (Diamond abrasion) or through the use of water dispersion technology (Hydrabrasion).
At Collins Cosmetic we use the CLAIRDERM system which is an Australian made medical strength Microdermabrasion system that has the trio of Crystal, Diamond and Hydrabrasion options. Each of these microdermabrasion methods can be used separately or in a combination protocol.
Removing (exfoliating) dead skin cells and surface debris not only cleans the skin and opens up pores but the process also promotes the generation of new skin cells. Contact Us
